The MIGDAS-2 (Monteiro Interview Guidelines for Diagnosing the Autism Spectrum, Second Edition) is a qualitative, sensory-based diagnostic tool used by clinicians to assess for Autism in children, adolescents, and adults. It includes interview protocols for parents, teachers, and individuals, allowing for a comprehensive and personalised assessment. This approach helps clinicians gather in-depth insights into how a person perceives and interacts with the world and is particularly helpful for people who present with a more internal presentation of Autism. The MIGDAS-2 is a validated tool for Autism assessment.
The MIGDAS takes around an hour to complete. It takes an informal interview form. The clinician will ask lots of questions. However, don't worry, there are no right or wrong answers, and all the questions will be about your own life and experiences.
